Situation

The year is 1984. World War Three is under way. Chemical nerve agents have been used; nuclear weapons have not, yet.

Communist parties have risen across Europe. In Italy the PCI, backed by East German forces and Soviet VDV arriving from Yugoslavia, has tried to seize Rome.

Operation Yellow Bear continues. NATO's 1st Army Group "Hat" has taken Rome, but fighting goes on across the rest of Italy.

3rd Army Group "Boot" took heavy losses and has been pulled back into a support role. It now runs an aid station and resupply depot in the Parco Nazionale del Gargano, with its HQ at San Severo.

2nd Army Group "Train" is the focus of our story. Having fought its way from Anzio to Termoli and rested, it must now assault the DDR strongpoint at Naples and push south. 1st Army Group has sent more than 4,000 troops down the E45 with armour and air support, while Train loops through Salerno and advances north from Pompeii.

Germany and Poland are under Soviet control, and Moscow is openly criticising Berlin's failures. Warsaw Pact cohesion may be starting to crack.

Expect fast attack and defence actions, with objectives across the whole site for both sides.
