Its 1984 and world war three rages across the globe. So far no nuclear weapons have been deployed but a number of nerve agent chemical weapons have been and to deadly affect. The Communist might has grown and with the new treaty between the Communist parties of the USSR and China the red army has been given it’s desperately need bolster from the East. Across most of Europe, communist parties have rises up and either challenged the lawful democratic government or take up arms and begun their own coups. One such country is Italy. A large number of German DDR and USSR VDV have moved across the Adriatic sea from Yugoslavia and been aiding the Italian Communist party, the Partito Comunista Italiano, or PCI to seize control of Rome from the Christian Democracy party, whose near loss of the 1983 elections gave the PCI its foothold and just under majority.

Operation Yellow Bear is in full deployment and thousands of Nato troops have landed across the Italian peninsular and are in full engagement with the Red Machine of Warpac.

3rd Army Group, code-name ‘Boot’ has found far more resistance than expected with a huge DDR presence as well as a militia of communist supporters including the Police and security forces at their landing in the teroli ports. General Enrico Longo, son of the communists Luigi Longo PCI leader has managed to persuade a number of other military personnel to help fight off this ‘Invasion against their sovereignty’. Though now landed, tough fighting has stopped 3rd army from getting a proper foothold.

Nato’s 1st Army group, code name ‘Hat’ has pushed towards Rome and consolidated with massive Airborne Elements that have already captured much of the City. The battle for Rome has begun with street to street fighting, Warpac reinforcements have stumped the NATO advance and the battle could swing either way.

2nd Army group, code name ‘Train’, has pushed hard and fast along the highways, but a determined mixed Warpac force had created a number of pocket defences along the rural areas of the roadway near Casino. The army groups ‘Front’ arrived and assaulted the Termoli fields with surprising ease and now has control over Warpacs supply air fields. However, with nearly 60% of the needed munitions being destroyed or abandoned in damaged vehicles along the way, can they keep hold of it.

Thanks to the Intel gathered after a successful action on a Warpac command bunker and other collated intelligence gathered during the ‘Trains’ advance, they know where many of the Warpac command bunkers, enemy controlled buildings and reinforcements are stationed around southern Italy and know they have a day to secure before any kind of counter attack can happen.

2nd Armies priority right now is to make sure the can land their own supplies, destroy the supplies captured that have no relevance to them and punch out to aid 3rd Army, stuck in Termoli west of the airfields, the other side fo the city.

This battle will see hard and fast attack end defend actions from both sides with objectives across the whole site in play for both groups.
